This New York State Boating Safety Course is fully approved and meets all requirements under Brianna’s Law, the New York law requiring all boaters to complete a certified boating safety course to legally operate a vessel in NYS waters. This course also satisfies all New York State (NYS) and U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) requirements for operating a Personal Watercraft (PWC), Jet Ski, WaveRunner, or powerboat. Upon successful completion, you will receive your official NYS Boating Safety Certificate (commonly searched as a New York boating license, NY boat license, or Jet Ski license NY) the SAME DAY as the class. This is a lifetime boating safety certificate, allowing you to legally operate a Jet Ski or boat in New York and many other states. Students also have the option to add a boating safety endorsement (anchor icon) to their NYS driver’s license for added convenience.

Upon successful completion of this NY boating safety course, students will be issued a temporary NYS boating certificate valid for 90 days, allowing immediate legal operation of a vessel. Adults 18 years of age or older are required to submit a $10 processing fee online to New York State in order to receive their permanent NYS Boating Safety Certificate card by mail within the 90-day period. For students ages 10–17, the $10 NYS fee is waived, making this an affordable option for younger boaters and families.

All required study materials are included with your registration. A New York boating safety course manual will be provided upon arrival at class, so no pre-study is required.
